This tank has been running for about a year and has been a problem tank since the beginning.  Of the tanks converted to gravel over soil, it's had the worst break in period.  It looks like it might be (finally, hopefully) getting over it and settling down.

This is my first gravel over soil tank.  It's a strange feeling to make that much mud in the bottom of a tank.  I was surprised at how clear the water was after I filled it.

Here's an update from October 2006.  I'm still fighting algae with this tank.  :-(

April 2007

I changed the rocks in the tank, and the algae is finally going away.

May 2007

A few changes in plants and location.  I love the creeping red hygro that's filling in the middle.  I just wish it would hurry up and fill it in--always impatient.

The tank continues to settle into its latest look.
