I found an older hood (lower light intensity) out in the garage and decided to set up another tank for my ferns, anubias, and moss.

The moss wall filled about 2/3s of the way in (and I liked how it looked) then clado attacked.

April 2007  I'm still doing battle with clado algae.  The wood in there is getting old, and I'm starting to think it may need to be replaced.

I really love that arching piece of wood, but it seems to be where the clado is originating.  I may have to rethink my opinion of grapevine.  It takes a long time to settle into a tank before it quits causing problems and then seems to only last 2-3 years.  The new scape uses mopani wood.  It's nice wood, but I'd quit using it before because the tannins it releases really darken the water.  I think I need to put a dark background on the tank.

May 2007

Not much change.  I did finally get the background on the tank.  There are finally starting to be enough shrimp in the tank that I don't feel like I have an empty tank.
